C++ programming language was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1983. He started with project around 1980 and launched in 1983.
He had a concept in his mind to develop such a programming language which could implement the concept of OOP, so that we can easily relate programming with real world entity. This programming language was adopted for number of software which results in efficient use in memory as the OOP concept provided the reusability of code in different aspects i.e. (polymorphism).
