This Privacy Policy explains what information Programming Villa LLC collects through programmingvilla.com and when you use our courses, and how we use and protect it.
Information We Collect
We collect the information you give us, limited technical information needed to operate the website, and the work you submit during a course.
Information You Provide
Enrollment requests: first and last name, email address and, if you choose, phone number, company and comments, together with the courses you select. Contact form: name, email, topic, optional order number and your message. During a course: the code, projects and questions you submit for review.
Information Collected Automatically
Your browser stores your enrollment cart and recent order reference in local storage on your device so the cart works between pages. Our server sets one session cookie (PHPSESSID, marked HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax) that keeps the forms secure and shows your confirmation page; your browser deletes it when you close the session. When you submit a form, we record your IP address and the submission time and include them in the email we receive, so we can detect spam and abuse. To limit repeated submissions, we store a keyed hash of your IP address with the times of your recent submissions and delete it after 1 hour. A keyed hash is pseudonymous data, not anonymous data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting and deletes them within 90 days.
How We Use Information
To review and confirm enrollment requests, send invoices and access information, deliver courses, mentor reviews and sessions, issue certificates, answer your messages, keep business and tax records, and protect the website from misuse. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use one essential session cookie and your browser's local storage. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists each item.
Service Providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the business. Our web host runs the website and sends form submissions to our mailbox from our own server. Our email provider stores the messages we receive and send. Google Fonts serves web fonts and receives your IP address when the fonts load. Our learning platform and payment provider process the data needed to deliver courses and take payment. If we enable Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam on our forms, Cloudflare processes technical data about your browser to run that check. These providers may use your information only to provide their services to us.
Payments
No payment information is collected on this website. Payments are processed by the third-party payment provider named on your invoice. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Analytics
We do not currently use analytics tools on this website.
Email Communications
We email you about your enrollment request, payment, access and course delivery. We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Data Retention
Enrollment, invoice and payment records, including the enrollment request email with your IP address, are kept for 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations. Contact messages that do not lead to an enrollment, including their IP address, are deleted after 2 years. Submitted course work is kept for the length of your access period plus 12 months, then deleted.
Data Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections and reputable service providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of a breach where required by law.
Your Privacy Choices
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you email, by writing to hello@programmingvilla.com. We may keep records we are legally required to retain. You can clear your enrollment cart at any time by clearing your browser storage.
Applicable State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, such as the right to know, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and we honor access, correction and deletion requests from all US residents. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International Visitors
Our services are operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy and will change the "Last updated" date when we do. Significant changes will be communicated by email to enrolled learners.
